TWICE EXCEPTIONAL & GIFTED STUDENTS
Gifted and twice exceptional students frequently feel the pressure and stress of feeling they are not meeting expectations of their teachers, parents, and peers. These may be very real expectations or even simply things the student has come to believe is expected of them.
These students frequently hear they are not “living up to their potential”, but this creates shame, as many do not possess the skills to truly shine without feeling overwhelmed or pressuring themselves to not make a mistake. This shame limits their confidence in asking for the help they need.
This is not about ability - it is simply about building the skills to manage their very busy brains and capitalize on their incredible talents!
